Working in the Garden

 Room 4 received a very generous donation from Mr. Salmon for a Garden-to-Table project. We weeded the garden, mixed in new soil, and learned about what plants need to grow strong and which plants help each-other to grow. We planted lots of different kinds of herbs, vegetables such as corn and broccoli, lettuce, and flowers to help bring in the bees. We will be learning to cook some nutritious meals with what we grow! It was great to be out tin the sunshine and working with our hands. 

Cricket Practice

 Our class had fun practicing our hand-eye coordination and playing some fun partner games at cricket practice this week! 

Building Earthquake Resistant Structures

 We have been learning about safety during natural disasters this term. As part of our emergency preparedness investigation, we wanted to explore how we can design buildings and desks that are safe for us to be in during an earthquake. These are some pictures of our engineers hard at work:
